Your relationship has been great so far, but lately you’ve been feeling like your girlfriend may be getting tired of you.
Maybe you caught her checking out another guy, or maybe she’s not as responsive to your texts as she used to be. There could be several reasons why she’s growing tired of your relationship and here are 10 reasons why your girlfriend is tired of you.
1) You have no goals
It’s hard to be a part of something you don’t care about. If your lady-love feels like she doesn’t know where you’re going in life, she might be losing interest in being there with you. By setting goals for yourself—whether it’s getting a promotion at work or simply learning to play guitar—you can show her that you have a plan for your future and make her feel safe investing in it.
2) You’re too focused on your looks
Focus on things that will make you happy, not just making yourself more attractive to your girlfriend. Chances are she wants a man who loves his family and friends and not someone who spends all day at home with his mirror.
3) You nag her about taking selfies
Selfies are meant to be taken with a smartphone or webcam. There’s no reason for your girlfriend to spend money on an expensive digital camera or, God forbid, a film camera just so she can take selfie. In fact, you should be encouraging her to take selfies and posting them on social media platforms.
Not only will it boost her confidence, but it will also make you look more attractive in comparison to other potential suitors who post all those duck-faced pictures of themselves in ridiculous costumes. If your girlfriend takes too many selfies, it could mean that she has issues with self-esteem and body image. If that’s the case, then perhaps you need to reevaluate why you’re dating her in the first place.
4) You think she should change who she is
In your eyes, you think that she’s perfect—or at least that’s what you think. But in reality, if you ask her, she will tell you that there are some changes she’d like to make and some things about herself that could use a little improvement.
If you try to force her into changing who she is because it doesn’t fit with how you see her, then it won’t be long before she starts feeling suffocated by your constant attempts to change who she is.
Let her be who she wants to be, and let yourself love all of those sides of her. When she tries to talk about something personal: When women talk, they often want to discuss something meaningful.
It may be an issue they’re having with someone else or even an issue they have with themselves. Whatever it is, if you don’t want to listen, it can feel as though you’re shutting down any chance for communication between the two of you.
5) She doesn’t feel you listen to her
Communication is a two-way street, and your girlfriend wants to feel like she’s heard. If you’re too busy ranting about how work went or how much your boss stresses you out to make time for what she has to say, she’ll start feeling like her opinions aren’t as important as yours.
And when that happens, it can be hard to get back on track. It might sound trivial, but taking an interest in what she says and really listening, is an easy way to show her that you care.
6) She feels like you don’t make her a priority
If your girlfriend feels like you’re not making her a priority in your life, she might just leave. Don’t be that guy who puts all his free time into video games or going out with friends, while leaving her home alone. In fact, when was the last time you made your girl feel really special? Never take her for granted! Make sure to plan quality time together at least once a week and show her how much you care about her by being attentive and romantic.
And don’t forget to do little things like send cute texts throughout the day, even if it’s just to say hi! She needs to know that she’s always on your mind.
It can make a huge difference in keeping her around longer. It can also help keep those butterflies alive even after you’ve been dating for years. You aren’t living up to your potential: When we love someone, we want them to succeed and reach their full potential in life.
7) You don’t do anything with her friends
If your girlfriend has been trying to get you to hang out with her friends for months, there’s a good chance she’s not doing it because she just wants another set of friends to talk to. She wants you to spend time with them because she likes them and wants you two to connect.
If you’ve been a no-show too many times, they’re going to assume that you’re just not that into her and will start gravitating away from your relationship. You don’t help around the house: Even if you live alone, your girlfriend expects you to pitch in when it comes to chores around the house.
Whether it’s taking out trash or cleaning up after dinner, everyone should be contributing their fair share. In fact, if one person isn’t helping at all (and especially if that person is you), she’ll likely feel like she can’t rely on you in other areas of life as well.
8) She doesn’t see you as a romantic partner
Women crave romance and intimacy just as much, if not more than men. If you are not meeting her needs in these areas, then she’s probably ready to move on. The best way to make sure that your girlfriend doesn’t get tired of you is by making sure that she feels loved and desired. Make time for regular dates, surprise her with gifts from time to time, and most importantly show her how important she is to you through words rather than actions alone.
The more attention that you give your girlfriend when it comes to romantic gestures, the less likely it will be that she gets tired of being with you. She thinks you’re boring: All women want a guy who can keep them entertained; but what they don’t want is a man who acts like he has nothing better to do with his life than entertain them. This may sound harsh, but think about it: Would you date someone who wasn’t interested in anything other than hanging out with you? Of course not!
9) You are jealous or insecure because she has male friends
While it’s natural to feel like your girlfriend should be spending more time with you, be careful not to force her into spending all her time with you. Women need alone time as much as men do; if you don’t give her that space, she’ll start to resent you.
You’re still in love with your ex: Don’t think that just because you and your ex broke up years ago means you can move on from her completely.
The longer you hold onto feelings for an ex, especially if they were strong feelings or there was an unresolved issue between you two, the harder it will be for someone new to come along and steal your heart away from them. If you want to have a successful relationship in future, make sure any lingering feelings for an ex are resolved before trying again.
10) She feels ignored when you play video games
If you find yourself ignoring your girlfriend in favor of playing video games, that’s a problem. If you don’t respect her feelings and needs, she may well eventually move on to someone who does. Make sure to set aside some time each day for your significant other—and then make sure you actually use that time for quality together time.
Good communication is key here; if your girlfriend wants more attention from you, don’t blow her off or insult her—just communicate. Explain why you love gaming so much, but also acknowledge how important she is to you. Then ask her what kind of compromise would work best for both of you.
